If 'Clueless' were made five years prior...?

Who would you cast (since there's a thread about who you would cast if it were made today) if it was made in say, 1990 instead of 1995. I think that Kristy Swanson would've made a perfect Cher (she practically played a prototype of her as Buffy the Vampire Slayer). I'm guess that you could still have Stacey Dash as Dionne (since she was believe it or not, in her late 20s in 1995). If not her, I probably would've gone w/ Karyn Parsons (Hilary from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, who was with all due respect, a "black Valley girl").

I think Christina Applegate would have made a great Cher, Karyn Parsons I can see for Dionne she played a clueless type girl on Fresh Prince, and not sure who I would cast for Tai.

^Winona Ryder could've made a good Tai. Totally agree about Christina Applegate.



Heather Graham as Cher; Jennifer Connelly as either Tai or Amber.

Yeah Kristy Swanson sounds like a good choice and yeah Stacey Dash would've still worked. Paul Rudd too. Haha actually other than for Cher, Tai, Murray you could have used all the same cast.

Even for Murray and Cher you might have been able to get away with it (16 and 14) not sure if Alicia was a young or and older looking 14 year old. But they usually do prefer to cast older than that for the experience, working hours, etc.

Anyway:
Cher - Kristy Swanson (Amanda Peterson or also Christina Applegate, Jennie Garth, Nicole Eggert)

Murray - Malcolm Jamal-Warner

Tai - this one is trickier, maybe Winona Ryder, Ione Skye, Mary Stuart Masterson, Jennifer Grey, Kerri Green

Oh also Shawnee Smith for Cher, she could've worked great for it too.
I'd say Kristy Swanson, Shawnee Smith and Amanda Peterson for my top three Cher choices.
