Question about the age rating.

I have not seen the show nor have I seen this movie but I was wondering why is this flick PG-13/12? I know it's for the sexual stuff and some language but why did they do that? Wasn't the original show squeaky clean g-rated family entertainment?
Why did they take the film in that direction I wonder?

Well, I don't know why they did it that way, but there were some innuendos to emphasize the Bradys "oddness", how they are candid and squeaky clean next to the corrupted rest of the world.
The scene with Marcia's would be boyfriend was hilarious, but it wasn't exactly G rated family fun.

They probably took it that way because no one wants to see squeaky clean family fun. Maybe some people, but not enough to make a hit.

Besides, what they did with it was brilliant! The Brady's are still squeaky clean and naive, living in the grungy 90's. They're so disconnected from reality, living in their own little world. The reactions by everyone to their wholesomeness are hilarious. This sarcastic, post-modern spin they put on it totally worked. I don't think it could have been better had they maintained the attitude of the TV show.

It was because of the horny Mrs Ditmeyer and Doug Simpson.
