Greg Brady miscast

I love Christopher Daniel Barnes but I feel that he was miscast as Greg Brady. He doesn't look a thing like Barry Williams. Jennifer Elise Cox doesn't look exactly like Eve Plumb, but her imitation & speech patern of Jan/Even is dead on. Christopher doesn't even act like Barry. I feel they should have cast one of the the Bloom boys. Brian or Scott. Like Barry they also have beautiful blue eyes. Just my opnion.

JEC did do a good job of portraying Jan but I hate how she was written as an awkward dork. At least in the Very Brady Sequel, they could have written her as the babe she blossomed in to by season 5.

Greg is portrayed is a complete dork who constantly strikes out with the chicks but doesn't cotton on to the fact they don't like him. This doesn't ring true at all. Greg was as much of a stud as they could make him in such a squeaky clean show for the time in the 70's and he was as appealing to women as Marcia was to men, yet they didn't make her out as a loser in the romance stakes like Greg. With Jan they took the middle child neurotic and had great fun with it and I thought it was the highlight of both movies.

Thoyght it was peter at first. Looks nithing like greg and he was the most important character to get right

More than Marcia? The parents? No, I'd say he was one of the least.

I have no idea what you're all complaining about He was fine. They spoofed his studliness. like they spoofed Marcia being a drama queen.

I feel that a Greg counterpart would be more difficult to cast than the others simply because Barry Williams had a very distinctive kind of face. It's harder to find someone else who looks like him.

I think most of the other kids have a more generic appearance, though I am still amazed that the movie version of Marcia looked almost like the exact twin of the original Marcia.

I do agree, however, that Barnes didn't act that much like the orginal Greg. The original Greg was a pretty confident, assured kind of guy. He seemed to carry some authority on account of being the oldest child, but not so much in the movie. That grinning and geeky manner actually reminds me more of the way the original Peter acted in the later episodes of the series.

That being said, however, I still feel that the movie-Greg did create many funny moments. I could forgive the movie for deviating from the original somewhat on one character, since the others were more faithful. But if the movie had deviated that much on more of the characters, it wouldn't have been nearly as good a movie.

When Christopher Daniel Barnes was on the TV show "Day by Day" they had "A Very Brady Episode" in 1989. Robert Reed and Florence Henderson reprised their roles; other Brady veterans also appear, including a then-pregnant Maureen McCormick. In the episode a teenage boy in the family (Barnes) dreams he is Chuck Brady and escapes to the Bradys' world after he is scolded for his poor scholastic habits due to watching a Brady Bunch marathon.
