I find it kinda surprising....

First of all, I have to say that this movie was a pleasant surprise. I remember when it had its theatrical release, when it came to video and the numerous times I saw it listed on TV. However, I never bothered to watch it. Then recently, I found it in the "cheapo" bin as a double feature with "The Specialist" (another Stallone film) and decided to give it a try.

While it wasn't the best assassin genre movie, I really enjoyed it. I saw on other posts, the comments of others listing their favorite films in the genre. I saw many of my personal favorites including Grosse Point Blank, Leon (aka The Professional) and a few others.

The one film that I was surprised wasn't mentioned in the posts that I saw, were the Bourne series. All 3 Bourne films were great and Jason Bourne's occupation WAS that of an assassin, yet no one seemed to list it as one of their fav's.

Anyway, I do want to say that Assassins was a fun, well paced film with decent performances by Antonio, Sly and Julianne (maybe she wasn't GREAT, but I like her so I'll say she did a good job).. :) If you haven't seen it yet, I'd say it's worth a look.
