A question on filming locations.

Can anyone tell me where Electra's apartment is located in Seattle? I have found the triple transmission towers at 18th and Madison but could not locate the apartment building. The area looks too congested to have a solitary apartment building as depicted in the movie. Perhaps the building exterior was filmed in a different location than the towers(as seen in the windshield reflection) because of the apartment explosion? Any clues?

BTW, I've seen where Rath jumps off the monorail buttress support onto a building and then an alley. It is not as high or as big as it looks in the movie and IMO any person of any reasonable athletic shape can make the same jump.

I found the apartment on the same trip that I found the apartment from Singles. We kind of stumbled upon it because the driveway was awkward from what I remember. It has been over 10 years since I was in Seattle so I have to see if I can find it again.

I appreciate your search. Can you recall if the apartment is near the towers? Yeah, I've been by the "Singles" apartment building several times; there's really nothing special about it. And, like most on-location film sites, it is smaller IRL than it looks in the movie.

Curious...why do we call them "apartments" when they are so close together? :)

The apartment building is on the corner of 18th Ave and E Pine St. at the base of one of the towers. The building appears to have been painted white now...at least that is what I see from Microsoft's Bird's Eye view.

The apartment building has not only been painted, but the entire facade has been changed....if it is the one. In the movie the second floor had a slight hang over the bottom floor at the windows; this building has a smooth exterior (at least viewed from MS BEV). It has the right size dirt parking area and the proximity to the towers is spot on. It most likely is the one and has been changed a bit in the last fourteen years.

"Thank you, Pussycat." as Bain would say. I'm not, of course, referring to you, although I do appreciate your help. I'm referring to the fact that trying to find another filming location has concluded. I went to that apartment building and, it is, indeed, the location in question. It is actually powder blue in color and the facade has changed slightly. It has the eight or so parking spots with a slight uphill to the building and the steps leading to the building off to one side. Also, again with other filming sites, it is much smaller IRL than it appears on film.

Well, with that site out of the way, it's on to others. I think that I'm gonna try to find the coffee shop in "Singles" next. I forgot to look for it the last time I went by the "Singles"' apartment building.

*EDIT 15 March*- Last night I read on Wikipedia that the location used for the coffee shop in "Singles" has been demolished. What a shame.

Elektra's ( Julianne Moore's )fake apartment building has since been demolished as of June 2009...

Anyone seeking to find this building will find nothing more than an empty lot now...

I would know, I live 2 blocks from where the building used to stand.

Then, if the building I went to is not the "building", where is the location that you are referring to?
