They turned out to be undercover INTERPOL agents posing as buyers. Thus, they were German agents posing as Dutch, which is why they spoke German to each other.

This may have actually been intentional as a reference to early American settlers mistaking German settlers for Dutch because when they said their home country was "Deutchland"(sp?) they thought they meant Dutch. It is true that a lot of movies where there's a reference to Dutch people, the often or always speak German or in some cases Swedish.
I guess for the untrained, never heard another language than English and / or Spanish, American ear... it's not something you would notice. Too bad... a lot of movies make it to overseas, where Dutch people get to watch this beeped-up mistakes.
In "Friends", Joey and Chandler meet this girl called Marga (pronounced with a hard Dutch 'G'), the girl playing Marga couldn't pronounce the name herself. Talk about Dutch-German mistakes...
If it WAS 'just' interpol agents, pretending to be Dutch, or buyers mistaken to be Dutch, the film people should at least (to make this credible) mention something pointing this out.
