Does anyone believe that...(SPOILERS)

...Rath trusted that Miguel wouldn't kill him in the end?

reply

I don't see why he would though. Miguel is anything but predictable, and something of a loose cannon.. seemed to me he wouldn't have qualms about anything whatsoever.
But it's been a while since I saw this movie, I'm probably forgetting details. :)

I think he trusted him for a moment, when he did the whole "quitting, that makes you number one" thing.
Miguel is unpredictable, but Rath did seem to like the guy and gave him every possible exit. I think Rath hoped Miguel would take his offer, but knew that if Miguel did try anything, Rath could and would kill him.

Agreed. If Rath really thought Miguel was not going to kill him, he would have thrown his gun down. He kept it just in case! Smart man.

Agreed, I think Rath did respect Bain after all that happened and he knew how much it meant for him to be "Number 1." I do love how Rath was prepared with his gun though, if Bain went against his word. Bain was definitely unpredictable and I do believe that Rath was kinda caught offguard because by the end, he really didn't want to kill Bain, he even tells him that.
