shareI agree. I thought his performance in this film was brilliant. He made the character believable and the way he developed him was amazing. I've always thought this was the one film he totally outshone the rest of the cast in.

perhaps an inspiration for heath ledgers "joker"

rollingeyes for your sarcasm

okay, you repeated yourself.
will a explanation follow?

oww believe me... I am not the only one who sees the similarities in the gestures... :D ... and, if you want to deny that michael bain could be an inspiration for the ledger's acting then feel free to do it but as I said no need for sarcasm.
EDIT: if you need a hint for my argumantation, than compare the hairstyle of the joker from the comics, nolan's joker aaaand michael bain.
as i said... just a hint ;-)
Heath would never take inspiration from a Stallone film. Especially not one of his 90s films. They were all bad.

Just watched it, I was thinking the same thing. I don't know if Heath was inspired by it or not but it sure is similar.
shareI agree with Taurus, there are some similarities. Saying that maybe Ledger took some of the Crazyness from Banderas to do the Joker doesnt mean anything bad for Ledger! stunning performances in any case
sharelol as if ledger's joker was some kind of shakespearian or brandoesque piece of work. he was good, but it wasn't that good
sharejust watched this again the other day and I 100% agree. Excellent character, outshone the hell out of the rest of the characters / movie itself.

i agree with you. assassins and desperado are his best works.
shareAgreed, Assassins & Desperado are definitely his best films. 10/10 for me. Banderas' Miguel Bain completely stole the film, such an awesome, crazy and badass character. I can see why some thought of Heath Ledger's Joker a bit, he was just as awesome, crazy & badass LOL. Anyway, Assassins is one of my favorite films and Banderas (along with Sly & Moore) are some of my favorite actors, loved this film. It's one of my favorites.
"I am the ultimate badass, you do not wanna `*beep*` wit me!"- Hudson in Aliens.
I agree dude! I finaly watched the whole movie today, and I agree, this was deffinately his best movie and his best performace!!!! One of my favorite actors!
shareSpeaking of "Puss in the Boots" I loved that line in this movie where Antonio is tracking Moore & Stallone's characters & he holds up the photo of her cat & says in his thick spanish accent "Thankyou Pusseee Caaatt". LOL I often wonder if this character & his performance had any influence on him landing the role of that likable Spanish kitty in the Shrek movies.
"When this baby hit's 88 MPH, you're gonna see some serious *beep*
Actually I did think Banderas character was a bit like Heaths Joker.

Probably, I am the only one who thinks that Bandera was exaggerating, overacting, in this film. In general, I like Antonio Banderas.
Yeah, Banderas stole the movie. He was the best thing about this film. Stallone was good too, but he played the silent hit man type who didn't show much emotion. So the movie needed a crazy psychopath character to counter him. Banderas brought an exciting energy to the film due to his performance.
