"Trivia: Rights to air on US TV were acquired by FoxKids (who outbid Cartoon Network at the time who expressed an interest) when anime exploded due to the surprise success of Sailor Moon in 1995. However, FoxKids decided against airing any episode due to the nature of the show being a geared to more adult that kids, and has since lets their rights expire."

Wait, what? It's a shounen anime, and from the episodes I've seen it makes stuff like Naruto and One Piece (which are mainly aimed at children) look like Grand Theft Auto in comparison.

I haven't seen Naruto or One Piece, but Slayers definitely pushes the Y-7 envelope stateside (even though they're rated 3+ in Japan). I'd rather see Slayers on Adult Swim like Inuyasha.

Ever read the original Dragonball manga? There's tons of sexual jokes and nudity and it's aimed at small children
