The Outer Limits in HD
This series deserves a remastering in High Definition.

shareNot true, there's plenty of resolution to be had from a digital transfer of 16mm (about 2k worth), and "HD" or Blu-ray isn't constrained to a specific aspect ratio. 4:3 is perfectly fine. Go watch Nirvana Live at the Paramount (preferably not on compressed Youtube) to see how good a 1.37:1 aspect 16mm transfer on Blu-ray can look. Would have been a travesty if only released on DVD.
shareI had forgotten Monty Python Flying Circus was a mix of outdoor 16mm and indoor video tape. Outdoor was OK HD but not as good as 35mm.
I download a short from Nirvana Live at 720 then 1080 from youtube, surprised the latter was better that most old movies shot 35mm were the camera negative is lost.
