What actor played J.P.'s assistant? The railroad chief's assistant had very funny lines, excellent timing, and was a very good comedic actor.

Looking over the credits, I can't remember if that assistant character was ever named in the movie.

Thanks, Friday, for the info. I had given up hope of getting any answer.
Looking at his bio on IMDb, I found that he was born about 15 miles from me.

Is there any other feature film of his that you'd recommend my seeing?
