starts off reallly really badly but...

Surviving The Game was broadcast on Irish telly last night (today is august 16th 2005) and I taped it...

Must admit..I almost switched it off after the opening sequences...it started out really really badly..but when they hit the cabin I found it watchable for a few minutes..and then it dropped off again.

I don't know where to start with describing how bad this film is.

On a positive, the storyline is not bad. Maybe it was Ice T that weakens the film....I cringed at a lot of his, er, *cough* acting. or maybe it was simply a bad adaptation. I notice others on here saying that the book itself is good.

And as for the ending.

well.

I thought the beginning was bad. Wait until you get to the end. I won't ruin it for you but, if you last that long. Fair play to you.

Sorry to sound so negative, but, some of the glorious comments on here recommended it nudged me into watching. Thought it best to post an alternative, less praising comment.

It's not the worst film I have ever watched. And I did make it to the end, but...

I agree. Its no masterpiece. I just love the Gary Busey monologue about cherry bombs and dog fighting. The opening and closing 20 minutes of the movie ruins it for me.
