Gary Busey..
IMO was killed off WAY too early here. I think Busey is perfect for these type of B movies, and to kill him off so soon was a travesty.

He was probably just contracted for a short, take-the-money and run role.
shareI don't know if this has been mentioned, but Aslan005, you mentioned you can't recall a movie where Gary Busy was a "nice guy". Well, I can. Lost Highway. He is nothing but he nicest most parent.
Signaturize this!
wasn't he the nice guy in point break?
shareParts of this movie were shot in my town, and the cast and crew stayed here during most of the filming. I found myself one night drinking beer with the grips from the crew at a local tavern. According to these guys, their nickname for Busey was "Gary Abusive". Seems that this actor was pretty impressed with his own celebrity, and the general concensus amongst those working with him was that he was an *beep* I suspect his character was killed off early in order to send him home at the earliest opportunity.
(Yes, I realize movies are rarely shot in sequence, and that he may have been around for the entire filming.)
I agree wholeheartedly, the man is a genius of the modern age and the film lost all is intrigue once he had gone.

I've Bulletproof and its dodgy. I love Gary Busey performances, I would recommend Eye of the Tiger, Chrome Soldiers and Big Wednesday as classic Busey performances aside from the ones you mentioned.
Bulletproof is unintentionally funny but worth watching if you like Busey.

Seen Lethal Tender (Die Hard in a Water Purification Plant) and Flesh & Blood. Flesh & Blood is a quality movie, Paul Verhoeven rocks. And yes, Mean Guns was a great idea wasted. It tried too hard to be quirky and amusing when really should've been sadistic.

All lovers of the man Busey should consider signing a petition I have started on his IMDB page. It is a petition that will hopefully make the Academy consider Gary for an Honorary Oscar next year - the man's genius should be recognised!

Gary Busey wasn't acting in this movie... he was just being himself.
shareBusey's the man. It's that simple.

I am in total agreement with the Gary Busey supporters. He plays his evil psycho role in this film to perfection, as does actually the whole clan of hunters. But, yeah, Busey was chilling in his character betrayal and I would have liked to see him remain around longer too.
Ice-T does a great acting job too.
So far as the post or two about Busey being obnoxious according to some small town bar regulars, well, I wouldn't necessarily doubt them, but also could care less, as if I recall from previous reading somewhere that Busey can in real life get pretty wild and I think that he also has had some drinking issues from time to time. A lot of talented individuals in all forms of occupations have had difficulties with the bottle from time to time, so I can excuse him for being human.
This movie is a quite the sleeper, and I think what helps to make it all the more creepy is that I wouldn't doubt if there are not a few groups of psycho rich types out there doing exactly this sort of thing. Would anybody agree that this sort of thing may very well occur?
