Still like the film, but my biggest problem was the military
training & costume design. Was the Air Force actually using the blue/ green style uniforms seen in this film in 1994?
The weapons make no sense either. MP-5 sub machine guns are a close quarter combat type weapon used in hostage rescue & other building interior types of clearing operations. Then I also spotted a foreign made H&K 7.62mm sniper rifle only carried by one soldier. Theres' no battle rifles, heavy hitting machine gun firepower for suppression or maneuvering, only the one hi powered rifle for a long range engagement, no grenade launchers, rocket launchers, satchel charges, or claymore mines.
The combat teams tactics look like something a teenager would do at Lazertron or a Paintball course. It almost looked like the actors had no military training or advisors on set. They just fumble around foolishly.
French Stewert was going for an Alien's Bill Paxton/Hudson type vibe but it comes off very amateurish because he just doesn't have the acting chops & the dialog written for him is absurd.
I still like the film, but I hope they can fix some of that if they reboot it & make these scenes more authentic.
