Possibly new failure in this story

May have been brought up before, but I notice this bit from the ST wiki:

In 2293, Soran became a passenger on a transport vessel, the SS Lakul, when it became trapped in an extremely intense gravimetric distortion trailing from an energy ribbon which acted as an entrance to the Nexus. While trapped in the distortion, Soran and the other passengers experienced brief moments in the Nexus, where Soran was able to live a life where the Borg had not killed his family. Soran's experiences in the Nexus were short-lived, however, as he and the others were beamed away to the USS Enterprise-B, which had responded to a distress call. Upon finding himself in the Enterprise's sickbay, Soran began ranting, demanding to be returned, forcing Commander Pavel Chekov to sedate him.

While this wasn't very apparent in the film (I thought he was thrown out of the Nexus and back into reality aboard the ship when they started firing photons into it in their complex plan to help, meaning he was already in there when it happened) WHY didn't any of those other passengers react the same way, and wouldn't some of them believe they'd seen an afterlife, given the circumstances?

It's kind of brought up with Guinan admitting she sorta fel the same way, but she eventually let it go. But yeah, there should have been more reactions like Soran's. The consequences should have been more wide-spread.

That was mentioned in the book, which was written long before the final script edit was done. In the book, Kirk had been in the Nexus for some time, had rescued everyone who had ever died under his command, and was getting ready to marry Carol Marcus.

But the major plot flaw seems to be that Soran was likely already in the Nexus, as Guinan's "echo" was.

"Lovey-dovey. Bonk bonk on the head!"

Your post confuses me. What wasn't apparent in the film? What you quoted from Wiki was all portrayed in the story clearly, yet what you say you recall from the film and your resulting speculation, wasn't part of the movie at all.
