Why doesn't this get the respect it deserves?
Every time I see this film, I like it more. I think it's my favorite of the Trek movies, even including Khan (yes, I know that's blasphemy for some).
What I love about it is the concept of the Nexus, something magical that anyone can relate to. It's an idea based on our imaginations, in a world of sci fi movies about battles and violence. Kinda like the way "The Next Generation" (my favorite of the series) was based on ideas, characters and behavior, as opposed to who could beat up who.
I love all of it. Seeing Kirk, Scotty and Chekhov again, watching Kirk and Picard interact, Guinan ... all of it.
