I don't know but Hadley was a mongrol for beating him to death! And it's mentioned later Hadley has a wife and kids. That ain't right!

reply

It's hard to think that Hadley would not have been a total tool with his wife and kids, but he had at least one great moment: beating the beejeezus out of Boggs and leaving that POS crippled for life - far more satisfying than if he killed him like mushy-ass.

That was the most satisfying scene in a movie that had more than its share of them.

Pedophilia and robbing a doughnut shop.

I'm guessing the good ole Coin-on-a-String Trick!

I always assumed he was a pedophile due to how all the inmates were directing all of that negative attention towards him and also due to Hadley going to town on him when he wouldn't shut up.

*Yes, Hadley was a relentless psycho - yet whenever he is depicted getting physical with any of the prisoners, its usually directed towards rapists (such as Boggs) or any perceived maliciousness towards non-prisoners/family (such as when he almost shoved Andy off of the roof - he totally misinterpreted the question about trusting his wife as being a backhanded remark when it was actually the polar opposite). The main exception here is when he shoots Tommy from the guard tower - he was acting on orders given by the Warden.

His crime didn't matter. The current inmates had a bet going on which of the new fish they could make break down first. Fatass just happened to be the odds on favorite. The other inmates were trying to insure their investment paid off. Remember Red picked Andy but lost because he didn't break down.

We'll never know what he did unless King decides to say something but he's never been that kind of author.
