I've proudly never seen this.
Read the synopsis on wikipedia, sounds like shit.
shareIt's overrated but a good film. I'd recommend it for people with mainstream tastes who like underdog stories. If you like art house type/eclectic type movies only then I wouldn't bother.
shareIt's utter crap. I cant remember the last time i saw a movie so crappy than Shawshank Redemption.
This crapfest makes films like The Room, Gigli, Jack & Jill looks like masterpieces.
Always trust Wikipedia.
I don't know why people like this movie,
nor do I understand the popularity of
Morgan Freeman and why he has to be
in about 50% of movies today ... my God!
I did see this movie on TV, or most of it.
Just not my cup of tea. It is a corny plot
like most of today's movies, fake, sappy,
trying to appeal to everyone. I'd give it
a 2/5.
I'd compare it to a movie like Forrest Gump,
it is a attempt at a fantasy feelgood movie,
and it works for some but not for me.
I always think of The Green Mile. Not only are they prison stories but they both seem like very safe and mainstream productions. In a way, they seem like they could have been made by the same director. And off the top of my head, I don't know who directed either of these very popular movies. I'm no encyclopedia but I try to remember directors if they seem to have consistently interesting films.
So I checked, and they ARE indeed directed by the same guy. How funny.
Also written by the same author.
shareI thought it sounded boring too. But then I watched it on TV one day. And now I watch it every time it's on. It's the highest rated movie on iMDB for a reason.
shareI’m happy you’ve never seen it too. Be like giving a dog a Kobe steak
shareIt's okay, worth seeing once, but definitely overrated.
shareExcellent book, better than the movie. Movie was good.
