Wade wasn't really drowning, he was pretending to get the father in there, once he came to save Wade, they were fighting underwater because Wade was trying to drown the father.

You guys are morons. It was made clear in the movie that Wade couldn't swim.

Wade mention that he doesn't know how to swim right after when Tom saved him but would you believe Wade? I thought it was just a clear set up for him to say that. Haven't watch the movie in a long while but I remember Wade saying he doesn't know how to swim sounded like pure BS.

It's made clear when Tom escapes and he goes after him. When he sees that Tom has gone into the river he says, "Sh!t", and holds onto the rocks as he walks through the water after him.

he was saying oh *beep* because he was in the water for long enough time to get pretty far away. he clearly was in water above his head. aswell as when he was thrown out of the water with out a life vest on he went under then came back up and the water was clearly over his head yet he was swiming in place. if someone cant swim and they are in a river raft going up a river at all time they would logically have a life vest on yet most of the time he didnt

no it was not made clear. it was hinted at but never once did they actually lead us to believe that he couldnt swim. you could clearly see that when he was under water and tom was underwater he was perfectly calm. he was simply trying to drown him.

Yes, it was made very clear. Wade and Terry have their boat accident and both go in the water, at this point Terry yells, "Wade can't swim!!" So according to you geniuses, that was all just a ploy to drown Tom? Because they were psychic and they would know that Tom would go in the water after Wade?
