Who the heck lets their child talk to them like that? When I say give it back, my kid dang well better give it back. When I say get in the dang raft. He better get in the dang raft.

The father had problems. The father couldn even make the dog mind him. The father was so involved in his work he was losing scope of what was important. He was losing respect not only from his wife, but from his kid.
The movie was about when a marriage doesn't work as a team the family doesn't also work as a team.
They should have just left him. I hated that kid.
shareThis movie if nothing else is an excellent example of why it is so important that your kids be taught to obey you without question.
shareTrue. I get that it wouldn't have been much of a movie if they had did everything they should have but they would have been out of there if that kid had stayed in the boat with them. They then could have reported the guys. They were almost killed and then had to witness the park ranger getting killed.
