did the dad think wade was grooming his son with the $200,being a pedo

i know he wasnt but did the dad think so?

reply

mmm i dunno if he would have thought that but he definitely felt uncomfortable by the gesture.I think he might have felt wade was just trying too hard to be nice for the family's kindness or that there was something not right with these 2 men as giving such a large sum of cash to a stranger is highly inappropriate.

There was obviously something not right about Wade and Terry, although, unlike Tom, Gail and their son, Roarke, never saw it that way.

OMG! That thought never entererd my mind! Why would it? Only a pedophile would think this about a scene in a movie! Therefore, what I am saying about the OP???

No, but he felt uncomfortable about it, and I don't blame him. He was right to not to let his son accept it. He was just being a wise, responsible parent. Two hundred dollars is way too much, and inappropriate as a gift to a stranger, and Wade knew it. He wasn't offering it out of the goodness of his heart. He offered that much deliberately to drive a wedge between the dad and son, so the son would see his dad as the "bad guy" and be wrapped around his finger. He counted on the dad reacting that way. The dad already had a suspicious feeling about those two. It would have been more appropriate to give him a much simpler gift like maybe $10 or something simple, to somebody you've barely known a day.
