Dave Garroway
Wow. Redford must have REALLY disliked DAVE GARROWAY from NBC. He is treated like a REAL SKUNK in this film.
shareI don't know about the dislike, but the actor does a great job of looking and sounding like Garroway. Why is he a "skunk" in the film exactly compared to the many other figures who are portrayed as skunks (the president of NBC for example)? He is barely in it, the banter with Charlie and the chimp is very accurate based on the actual shows (everybody hated the chimp as it was a biter with a penchant for temper tantrums -- I don't blame him considering he had to be dressed up in stupid people clothes and paraded out on a talk show every day). Garroway wasn't responsible in any way for Charlie's downfall.

Just that they lumped him in with ALL the other SKUNKS, NBC chief, Geritol jerk....
