Forrest Gump just wasn't as good nor impactful as Pulp Fiction. Pulp had better dialogue, cast, music, story and such. Forrest Gump was just the typical and boring Oscar bait.
shareI thought Forrest Gump sucked. Pulp Fiction was the only Tarantino film I liked, but best picture should have been Ed Wood or Quiz Show. Anyway Tarantino won Best Director.
shareActually he won best screenplay. Not best director. Best director went to Forrest Gump. I myself like that Forrest Gump won and think it deserved every single one since reading the book it's based on. Which is one of the silliest adult novels I ever read. It doesn't start out too silly but halfway through it starts getting over the top nonsensical silly. I think the writers and makers of the film of the movie Forrest Gump deserve the awards they got because of the book being so silly. Even besides that I like Forrest Gump more than Pulp Fiction. I think Pulp Fiction is entertaining but I don't think it's best picture worthy. But that's just me. I can understand those though who think Shawshank Redemption should have won though. It was as good as Forrest Gump.
