Ok, I was watching this movie the other day for the first time in years. Unfortunately, I didn't get to finish it. I can't remember what the paper bag with the date on it means. Please inform me!

If I remember correctly, the bag once contained some roasted chestnuts that she and her first husband (Jeffrey Pommeroy) bought on their wedding day. The writing on the bag may have been the date they got married.

I actually remember Jeff Pommeroy telling the story about how he and Vada's mom got married out in the snow, their wedding feast was a bag of chestnuts,they had no camera to take pictures of the wedding,so they just wrote the date that they got married on the paper bag and said that would be their wedding album.
