Vada's mom

does anyone else agree that Vada's mom looks nothing like her? and she was like, french? i know she didnt know a lot about her mother but she seemed like way dramatic and pretty and an actress! i mean i just cant really picture her with the dad. i know like opposites attract but i didnt think she looked anything like Vada. i dunno its just always bothered me.

yes it is...are you blind?

Actually, that claim is not exactly correct. I just watched this movie the other day. The picture was a sepia tone....and her hair was light colored. It could have been light brown...or it could have been dark blond. Also, she was looking up at Vada's dad...so how can you tell how she really looked if you can only see a small portion of her face?

ok...they're just actors, so they don't really look alike. and no she wasn't french. i remember the scene i think you're getting that from, and she's was about to go onstage. she's an actress and it's not that hard to fake a french accent. don't let it bother you. it's just a movie!

Ya dont judge a book by its cover

I was watching the first My Girl, and I believe Vada was quite similar to her mother in terms of, being overly dramatic ( running off to the doctors), she seemed to have a flair for dramatics like her mother and they both seemed to be very spirted.

I think Angeline Ball is absolutely stunning. She TOTALLY stole the movie for me (besides C. Ebersol, genius) She is a beautiful woman with a natural raidance about her.I would marry her in a heartbeat if she sang to me! Just my opinion..

She was not french....she was ACTING....speaking in an accent...it was quite obvious.

Vada looked (as close as the casting people could get) like a combination of her mother and father. Her mother was American and the scene where she speaks with an accent was just her goofing around before a performance. The actress who played her mother, Angeline Ball, is an award winning Irish actress. The one old photo looks like a faded black and white photo and most passport photos are terrible.
