Indeed, he's one of the many reasons why this movie is so memorable. I can easily imagine his character and Doyle in their own buddy cop movie.

I agree. Also loved the line, "Somebody stole your pajamas!?" I've had 3 different robberies (only one of them were the robbers found and arrested) and in addition to electronics the thieves in all 3 stole food and drink out of my fridge and in one of them they also stole my toilet paper! Pajamas are more understandable.
