I love being in JROTC (Not what you think it might be about)

On the bus to one of our drill meets, we were watching this movie. It was hilarious, because everyone was pointing out what they did wrong, especially at the "Virginia Military Games," even though they are not actually games. It is a Drill Competition. Off step, cadence can't be called, even if it is that kind. A lot of crap like that. And the fact that the Major is a Marine and the JROTC unit is Army. It was just funny the entire way to Tift.

Bow chicka bow wow!

I think the unit being Army and him being a Marine was on purpose...

I just like to shake things up a bit...

This movie got banned from our bus trips... mostly because our SNSI is a Major.

Make it up as you go along and you act as if you really know the song.

I remember when I was in Army JROTC. Everyone use to say quotes from the movie at the wierdest times, like while we were doing PT.

"Ave Mariaaa.....Hitman."

Greetings from across the Pond :)

I am British Army, I also work in the Army Cadet Force, I have had the opportunity to meet members of the JROTC, found them to be an ok bunch, their training is nothing like the film which I had incidentally watched a few days before in a Motel, thought it was interesting to compare training to the British Units, for some reason according to the CO, they don't do any fieldcraft or combat training, which I thought would be great for you guys, we have always been very much into fieldcraft and combat training for our Cadets, we don't however anything like a Colour Party which you take quite seriously.

You can YouTube Army Cadet Force and see what we get up to.

I too was in JROTC in high school. My CO was a Major, but he was nothing like Major Payne. He could be a hard ass at times, but he wasn't too hard on us. I really miss those days.

I was in mcjrotc. We used to quote this movie all the time.

It's a movie. A comedic work of fiction. Being an Army combat veteran, if I nitpicked every fictitious military action flick that came out, I would never enjoy any of them.
