Just before Major Payne shaves the boy and the dog at the end of the film, he tells Tiger, "Go tell Ma to bring my field knife."
shareYeah, I think it ended exactly the way he told her it wouldn't when he was leaving. He said to her "What did you think was gonna happen? That I was gonna marry you, adopt Tiger and become a loving male role model? That ain't me! That ain't Payne!"
I think that was said for a reason, and that's exactly what finally happened.
