The real "cringe" is Portman failing to match that performance in the three decades since.

No surprise.

She’s a good actress and smashed it with Black Swan but nothing tops her childhood performance as Mathilda.

Ironically, it is ‘cringey’ in that Leon (and the audience) cringes when Mathilda makes sexual advances toward him, but Portman seems to be making a dig at the film becuase it’s trendy to do so.

“It made me feel like the way I can be safe is to be like, ‘I’m conservative, and I’m serious, and you should respect me, and I’m smart and don’t look at me that way.’”

Unfortunately, most women are like this nowadays, especially walking around in their Yoga pants knowing they have a beautiful ass and heaven forbid you should look and if they catch you, they're offended and it's ridiculous
