How's the limited edition?

I've heard mixed things about the new packaging for the "Supreme Cinema" release like it falls apart easily.

The disk itself and booklet are great but the packaging is flimsy. If I wasn't a collector, I would not have bought it. It is a hinged plastic folder with a glued paper booklet and a mere sleeve for the Blu-ray. In my view, a recipe for it falling apart and for scratches on the disk. If you do buy it and are not a collector, I recommend customizing a standard blu-ray case for the disk.

Is the content of the booklet worthwhile? An online flip-through of The Fifth Element's Supreme Cinema suggests a nice presentation; great photos, lots of text. I'd almost be game if Leon's followed suit, unless it was mostly rehash from other sources, which tends to be the way these things go.

It is the same for the Leon booklet. I own the French edition of the book Besson wrote about Leon in 1995, which was loaded with pictures and chapters written by Besson, Reno, Portman, and central personnel, and collected every article and interview I could find about them at the time, yet this new booklet has great studio shots and a fresh text that brought things together that were otherwise scattered such as the platonic relationship, humor, and points of view of the actors.

Thanks, DFC2.

Clever strategy by the folks at Sony Pictures Home Ent.: take what is ordinarily a dismissible leaflet and put a genuinely nice package together--notwithstanding the binding--to tempt the OCD set!

Regardless of which edition I spring for, I'll eventually chime in on the new transfer, which looks fantastic in caps.

Does anyone have the Kimchi Limited Edition Steel Book? I purchased this Steel Book 18 months ago. It has the best packaging and design that I have seen. The art work on the front and back cover is very stylish. It is rather expensive, but if you like to collect Leon memorabilia, it's worth taking a look. I have the Blu Ray edition which offers both versions of the film.
