Film's Emotional Strength: Doesn't diminish after multiple viewings

The saddest moments in this movie still wrench my heart and muster up tears no matter how many times I've seen this movie.
The moment of hope in Samuel's face as he hears Tristan's voice coming for him, just before he's gunned down; with Tristan's heartbroken screams as he knows he's too late to save him.
The moment of Isabelle Two's death... It stings me every time, particularly due to all the just prior beautiful happy scenes of their marriage and their family. The sobs of her mother as Tristan carries Isabelle Two's lifeless body away, holding his head to hers for the last time.

So freaking sad.
