LOL, poor Timothy Treadwell...and poor Tristan!

I don't recall anything in the movie or in One Stab's monologue to give one that impression. But maybe it was. And we don't know that it ATE him, we just know Tristan died.

I dont know that it was the same bear, but I dont get what the hell he was doing in the forest by himself, was he looking for the bear or did it just attack him outta the blue? seemed like maybe he was looking for it, but it couldnt be the same bear lol. he didnt even run away he just stood and fought it lol! thats real guts!

I believe it was said he went there to hunt. I'm not positive, I can check the words later as I did, another thread, regarding why he didn't have a grave plot.

No one else was there so they couldn't know the exact circumstances. I believe it was meant to be symbolism. One Stab had a connection to Tristan. He probably sensed his exit and it was a fight with death or such.

It wasn't the same bear! What gave you that idea?

The death of Tristan with the bear was symbolic, nobody knew how he really died. I do think One Stab "felt" him die, since they had a spiritual connection.

One Stab also relates that Tristan was last seen in 1963 "up North where the hunting was still good". So it wasn't on the ranch that he died, probably in Canada.

Tristant was obviously hunting and came across the bear that attacked him in that death scene.
