AMC cut out an early scene
I was watching Legends of the Fall this morning and the movie started
at 9 am. After the opening scenes with Gordon Totoosis I noticed
that an early scene depicting Colonel Ludlow in uniform had been cut.
In the scene the colonel watched as a large group of Native Americans
left an area on the open plains on horseback. And the colonel being
so frustrated and fed up with all of the fighting against the Indians
removed his saber from the sheath and stuck it into the ground. This
scene although brief helps to show the colonel's dissatisfaction with
how the military and federal government had mistreated the Indians.
So perhaps AMC decided to cut the brief scene for time constraints
though the scene lasts for less than five minutes! I really do not
understand the logic for cutting out the scene.
