Just for fun if we had to recast the whole movie who would you cast ?

Col William Lodlow- Robert De Niro
Samuel- Matt Damon
Alfred- Billy Zane
Tristan- Ralph Fiennes or Daniel Day Lewis
Susanah- Madeline Stowe or Michelle Pfieffer
Isabel II- Winona Ryder

Now if it was remade instead of 90s recast

Col William Ludlow - Liam Neeson
Samuel- James McVoy
Tristan- Christian Bale, Chris Hemsworth or Theo James
Alfred- Bendict Cumberbatch
Susanah- Keira Knightly

I actually thought Brad Pitt was the ideal choice for Tristan, even though his acting performance was the subject of much criticism at the time. I think Tristan was meant to have that rough-around-the-edges feel that Pitt played very well. Plus, Tristan's character was meant to have a lot of sex appeal that Ralph Fiennes or Daniel Day Lewis would not have been able to deliver.

I could definitely see Liam Neeson as Ludlow today, and Chris Hemsworth would be the obvious choice for Tristan today.

Wow I cant belive you just said so, to each her own but I can't think of sexier man than Ralph Fiennes or Daniel Day Lewis in their respective prime, Brad is sexy as well but no one can beat Ralph Fiennes in The English Patient or DDL in the last of the mohicans when it comes to sex appeal at least in my opinion.

Can they not cut isabels character out and not make a mockery out of love? The movie and the book were a joke. The film had huge potential but it became awful after he returned from his voyage.
We don't need people confusing love with being a moron and ruining the lives of others along the way. If they remade it, they have the chance to make it better.
