Beautiful film!! Cant believe it took me this long to see it
a friend suggested it and let me borrow it...wow. never thought brad pitt was much of an actor but this movie just laid that to rest. great cast, moving story, incredible score.

shareIt gets better as you grow older, too. I think all the "Boring/Tristan sucked" posters must be youngsters.
I just gave it my first 10/10. (I'm a hard grader. smile)
Nah, I don't think it's "youngsters", per se. I first saw this when I was around 16. I loved it instantly. Now as an adult woman, mother and wife, I appreciate it and the various elements and dynamics a great deal more. My husband, on the other hand finds it slow and boring (except for the prohibition gunfight segments) and thinks Tristan is a dolt.
Perhaps, the it has more to do with a person's inclination for grand romantic/tragic pieces, than with age. I think we're often to quick to chalk things up to people's age instead of their interest or ability to relate, which, ironically, are often developed through age and experience- though we can't just attribute it soley to that.
"Beauty I'd always missed, with these eyes before. Just what the truth is, I can't say anymore."
I saw it at the theater in 1995, and its remained in my top 5 favorites since then.
