Can anyone explain to me how that costume worked that would be great at a halloween party. Something tells me it's more of a special effect. If it isn't please tell me how it works

For parts where it showed their full body, it was generally one person and a puppet. After watching it quite a few times, you can tell, because it usually showed Megan Ward clearly but Michael Stoyanov in the shadows or obscured by something. Notice she's always facing the camera and he's always on the other side of her away from the camera. For those shots, I'd say they just put a puppet on the other side of Megan Ward and she leaned a bit to the side. Just look at the hair and way the head moves. Definitely a puppet. I dunno why they always made him the puppet, probably a lack of budget, so they could only go with one side being a puppet. The only scene where it showed them both fully was the tapdance. Since she was wearing a skirt, they couldn't exactly hide an extra leg, so I'd say they probably did that part by doing some sort of splitscreen thing. One person does their part, then the other does their part, then they splice them together 50/50.

For closeups, yeah, it was a really big shirt and really big pants, just like cheesy here said. That's how you'd have to pull it off, but unless you're both extremely skinny, your legs are gonna look massive and your arms will look rather tiny comparatively. Though it might be a little funnier that way...
