I know I saw 'Freaked' dolls of the characters in a Sundance store in Ohio during the late 90s. I remember Cowboy was one of the dolls available. They were about the size of Beanie Babies.

Does anybody know how many characters were made? A check on Ebay turned up nothing.

I think you mean the Suncoast Motion Picture Store. The one by me had Julie/Ernie and Ortiz the Dawg Boy figures. I bought them but can't remember what I did with them. I do remember them not having any moveable body parts, so they were more like plastic statues. I also recall seeing a half mutated Ricky Coogin figure on eBay.

I got a Cow-Boy. a tag on it that Hideous Mutant Freekz. I always wondered if the movie was titled that and then changed to just Freaked. BTW...I still have it.

Hideous Mutant Freekz was the original title. Not sure exactly why they changed it, but I remember the article in a '93 FANGORIA magazine called it by the longer title.

There were four:

Ricky Coogin
Julie/ Ernie
Dawgboy
and
Cowboy

Pretty cheesy looking but cool to know they exist:
