i know its one of the funniest movies ever. the wrench/hammer thing kills me every time. though. i actualyl have a friend who hated the movie...i just dont understand people sometimes...
shareNot long ago I attended a midnight screening (at the New Beverly in Los Angeles) where Stern and Winter spoke and answered questions. They noted that the dramatic paces they were putting Mr. T through (as exemplified in the thread title) didn't sit well, and he ended up walking off the project. He fled to Chicago, ignoring their pleas and berating them for humiliating him and encumbering his dignity as a man. Prior to walking off the set, he'd apparently been numbing his injured dignity by tossing back the Colt 45 malt liquor, so his departure wasn't exactly a surprise. In the snooze-fest scene, he wasn't acting; he was truly in a stupor.
This is mentioned in the trivia section here:
Director 'Winter, Alex' claims that Mr. T got stressed out and left the set three days before filming was finished. A "scab T" was required for one shot. This stand-in can be seen in one of the cage shots during the battle between the huge Stuey and Ricky. Mr. T was unavailable for re-dubbing the scene with all the milkmen, so Lee Arenberg did the voice-over instead.share
That is such a bummer to hear, I thought his playing against type was one of the best parts of the movie and showed he had more depth as an actor than I thought. But I guess not really.
shareHell yeah. This movie has never been that popular, but back when it was not even on dvd, this line was an inside joke among maybe five people in my entire hometown. NOBODY got it. F-ing awesome.
There ain't no Hebrew God, Ozzy's God!
