Can you really get that rich catching shrimp ....
... or that famous playing ping pong? Or become an All-American just for running back kick-offs?
This is what I still think after seeing the movie in the theater when it first came out and then seeing it on small screens ever since then. Of course every movie requires willing suspension of disbelief in some way or another.
The distributors of the movie should consider a theatrical re-release to commemorate the 25th anniversary in 2019. Many of the scenes are so breathtaking on big screen, including when Forrest runs back kick-offs for Alabama, practically the whole Vietnam sequence, the scene at the Washington Monument reflecting pool and then the monster storm that changes Forrest and Lieutenant Dan's shrimp catching fortunes.
Not only is the movie fun to watch again and again, but it's also fun to introduce people to the movie, as other posters have said.
