I remember watching, many years ago, a movie similar to this one in which a group of characters have been assigned to open up a series of vaults (there are around 100 of them - vaults, I mean). They get to the second to last and there is a creature in there which gets out. There is a twist at the end, whereby we learn that the creature in vault 99 is merely a prototype, and the final version is in vault 100. Anyone know if this is a movie, or if I simply misremembered the plot of Death Machine?

I dont know if its a misremembered plot of this film, as there is just the one robot, one bulk head, and two security doors to the core, thou I know it isnt much help, if it isnt this film, and you do find out the name of it, I would be interested to know it.

Have you tried doing a super search?

Did you watched it as a kid? Then most probably you misinterpreted the plot. The machine is just one, stored in a vault. The final scenes take place in this vault.

Sounds like mixed plot with a bit of Screamers in it.

Damn, this movie sure sounds interesting! I hope it's not just some mix of different movies there. ;)
