Julie 'The Cat' Gaffney

Since Julie "The Cat" Gaffney is in both D2: The Mighty Ducks and D3: The Mighty Ducks, I will post this poll, on both message boards. Which goalie do you like better? The choices are Julie "The Cat" Gaffney or Goldberg. And you have to tell me why you like the one better then the other, so please don't be surpised to find this poll on both message boards, since these 2 are in the last movies, this poll will not be on the first Mighty Ducks movie boards, since Julie "The Cat" Gaffney was not in The Mighty Ducks, so please be surpised to see it there.

I am a female goalie. I play for a co-ed ice hockey team (Im the only girl though). Obviously I would pick Julie just because she is a female, and in the movie she is a better goaltender than Goldberg. My hockey friends and I do agree that the hockey in this movie sucks, you can tell it's all rehearsed and set up. In real hockey games it is way more fast paced.

reply

Hahah ofcourse it's set up! And I mean.. let's face it. Goldberg sucks! Julie "The cat" Gaffney all the way!

Julie, it annoyed me how they didn't play her til the very end in D2.

Another question, does anyone think that D2 was better than the first one? The rare case where the sequel is better than the original? Cuz i do.

"Hey Manny, who do you like better, me or Diego"? "Diego...it's not even close..."

No §hit it was rehersed. Its a movie every Sports movie is rehersed. What A dumb A§§

reply

UHHHH yeah im not stupid. I know they rehearse, im talking about how well they played. for example in the movie Miracle (hockey movie) everything looked completely realistic, fast-paced like a game should be, in this movie everything was slowwwwwwwwww and predictable, who's the dumba$$, tell me?

reply

They're kids so obviously they are going be a lot slower than the ADULTS in the movie Miracle. Wow you're thick.

Julie "The Cat" could be the coolest girl to ever be in sports movie period.

I mean Becky "The Ice Box" from Little Giants comes a close second though...

reply

Well, since Gaffney was talented and Goldberg sucked, I'd go with Gaffney. Goldberg's purpose in the movie is to serve as comedic relief for the kids too stupid to appreciate even the most primitive of childrens'-level verbal humor of the other characters.

Plus he's fat.

When I was younger, when Don Tibbles is introducing the new players and he starts talking about Julie, I thought he said this:

"That's Julie 'The Cat' Gafining. She won the state championship for me three years in a row."
... I wondered why she would win it for him... "This is for YOU, Mr. Tibbles!"

reply

Julie. She was fast and could actually block. Goldberg was a useless goalie who left the goal so wide a cow would've passed through. He wasn't funny at all so I don't see why he'd have seniority over Julie.

reply

Obviously Julie. Goldberg was constantly out of position.

reply

I'd go with Julie on this one too.

Here's the thing. Yes Julie was the better goalie and that was the point of the movie. It was glaring. The movie was about adjusting to change, new opponents, new teammates, new attitudes towards celebrity and how to deal with it all and come out better. Gordon was partial to Goldberg because of the team's history and that caused him to overlook Julie when, in the end, he recognized Julie's superior skill and knew she would carry the win.

julie... goldberg never shuts up but i still like him too
