Gunner knows that Jule "The Cat" Gaffney has the fastest glove in the league. If he wasn't such a show off they could have won the tournament.

He knew she was the fastest glove, however, with her being cold, him being a showoff and the LEading Scorer in the league, i could see why he would shoot glove side. and stopping to take a slap shot, definitely would let him shoot the puck a lot harder. kind of one of those theres no way you best my shot even on your best day. kind of thing.
shareAlso, i dont think Julie could have Stopped Gunner just by herself. She had the fastest glove, however, being a cold goalie at the time, nervous, and Estevez told her what he was gonna shoot and told her to anticipate him hitting her on the glove side. She even was doubting it asking what if he goes stick side. thats just my opinion though. she had skill butstopping his shot had some luck attached to it.

you are correct my friend but there are alot things in the movie that you are not allowed to do not just in youth hockey but any level of hockey. Oh well its still a fun movie

THE CROWD WOULD HAVE SEEN HER MAKE THE SAVE. IT'S NOT LIKE THE KID SHOOTS FASTER THAN THE EYE CAN SEE. IF THEY DIDN'T SEE THE PUCK ENTER THE NET, WHERE DID THEY THINK IT WENT? I KNOW IT WAS FOR DRAMATIC EFFECT, BUT THIS PART IS STILL A JOKE.

My real complaint is that she was only used during the Shootout. Goldberg was the lousiest goalie I've ever seen, but b/c he was in the first movie, he's the hot goalie. It disgusted me.
Also,at the time when Julie asked for more playing time and Emilio said Goldberg was the hot goalie, Goldberg had only faced Trinidad & Tobago and Italy....haha.
shareThe fact that trinidad and tanbago have a hockey team in the movie is great. If Gunner studied the movements of the cat, he would have gone forehand backhand top shelf. I think the real question is, where the hell are Canada and Russia?
shareGunnar wouldn't have won Iceland the tournament, but they would have tied and had another shootout, thus giving Iceland another chance at winning.
