What happen to the kids in the first movie that weren't in this one?

I don't remember their names, but you know who I'm talking about. Was it money? They just weren't needed? What?

Not sure seems like they were replaced as the ones who were absent seemed like they didnt really take hockey as seriously as the other kids. The only absence that is confusing is Terry Hall.

Maybe he grew out of playing hockey.

Someone was another kid's little brother. He was probably in a different age group now. Like every two years would be put together as a kid, but then they are split up as they grow older. Some of the other kids may have moved. They were low middle class to poor. Their parents may have moved somewhere even cheaper, or they just got a new job.

A few reasons. Maybe some didn't want to play hockey anymore. Some may have moved away. Also it seems the Ducks being admitted to Eden Hall was basically due to their fame from the recent winning of the Goodwill games so by the time of D3 even if there were some that was interested in returning it was too late since they weren't apart of that team that won so of course they wouldn't get free scholarships like the others.

For Jesse's brother younger brother I always figured their parents were divorced since you just saw his dad and figured Terry went with his mom while Jesse stayed with his dad. Jesse's absence in D3 is interesting and I can only guess he opted not to go to school at Eden Hall and preferred public schooling.

I was actually talking about the actors not the characters.

Danny Tamberelli is the most famous one out of that group. lately not so much, though.

Jussie Smolett the kid that plays Terry Hall. Is one of the main characters on the tv series Empire. Hard to recognize him since he was fat as kid but its him.

Did the kids continue to have acting careers? I would think maybe since they were kids they just had decided the acting life wasn't for them after one movie or so. Even with the opportunity for D2 maybe the parents and kids decided not to do it.

Karp wasn't that important of a character in the first Ducks movie (but he had my favorite line of the movie... "I was being sarcastic, Karp. Do you know what that means?" "NooooOOOooo!") yet I always wondered why he wasn't in D2. His actor Aaron Schwartz later had the lead role in "Heavy Weights" alongside Shaun Weiss (Goldberg) and Keenan Thompson (Russ) so it wasn't like he quit acting or anything.

I have to add, though-- Aaron Schwartz turned out to be a rather handsome as an adult...

I assume those kids weren't included in D2 for 2 reasons:

1) They added some additional characters in D2 (Dean Portman, Dwayne Robertson, Luis Mendoza, etc.) so some of those kids from the first movie had to be replaced.

2) The kids that weren't included in D2 weren't talented enough to play for an international team anyway. Kids like Karp, Peter and Terry Hall were all very small and not very useful in the first movie. Karp and Peter's characters in particular were mostly featured in the first movie for their comic relief rather than their hockey playing abilities.

However, while the "not talented enough" explanation makes sense, that doesn't explain why Averman was considered good enough to play for Team USA.

That's what I figured too. Obviously you have to suspend disbelief for any of those players to play for a national team, but in the context of the movies it's really difficult to think of Karp, Terry, or Peter advancing further.

The only time any of the three were focused on during gameplay was Karp blocking the shot with his head. You could tell who Peter was on the ice simply because he was the smallest. Terry's spotlight was smacking another player on the helmet on the bench with the annoying "LET'S GO" screaming and being a victim of the oreo line comment.

"That's my secret, Cap. I'm always angry."

I think it's fairly obvious, they removed 5 lesser known characters to add 5 new ones.

Peter, Karp, Terry, Tammy and Tommy are out

Portman, Mendoza, Robertson Gaffney and Wu are in.

Tammy and Tommy are easy to explain, their parents didn't even know they were playing hockey, and Kenny Wu basically replaces both of them as the figure skater.

Peter are Karp were more memorable off of the ice, than on the ice, and Terry, lets be honest, he was just kind of there.
