Just go back to his old career (lawyer)...There's a scene where he's worried about how he's going to make a living, as I recall he was never fired from his firm?

When Bombay refused to let Banks continue playing for the Hawks his boss asked if he was willing to be fired over some kids. His response was, are you prepared to fire me over a couple of kids. Then his boss told him to pack up his desk.
