I mean, wasn't there anyone else who could perform that role?
I'm watching the movie right now, and I couldn't stop myself to come here and post about her terrible acting.
The movie is great overall. I give it 9/10. But it could easily get a ten ,if the director had used a better actress in his movie
I dunno, I felt she was okay; she wasn't an experienced actress so I guess I see what you're saying -- everyone else was on their game so well that it stands out when someone is very green, and she was green.
I think she did okay in a child-character role though; her awkwardness was kind of how a kid like that would be.
I'm trying to think now of who else could have played it at that time; is there anyone you thought of? It would be interesting to think who else would be good as the Sarah character.
I know what you are talking about. That awkwardness that every child could have, but in her case it's totally different. She had taht "Bella" face during the whole movie.
I can't think of anyone who could replace her. I don't know much child actors or actresses . Maybe you should recommend some?

I'd just like to state that I have always admired Rochelle Davis’ performance as Sarah. Her acting isn't up to par with Brandon Lee’s or anything, however, to say she ruins the film is rather silly. I thought she suited her role just fine. She delivered her lines convincingly and had the right attitude required for her character overall. Her scenes with Brandon Lee are particularly wonderful and moving.

I just watched The Crow for the first time a few months ago and I enjoyed her performance in the movie. It may not have been the best acting I've ever seen, but she had a good look and thought she brought some heart to the role.
I completely agree on her bringing some heart to the role. That's really why I like her in the film.

shareAdmittedly, it's hard not to get a bit teary eyed and emotional over Sarah's voiceover at the end of the movie: "If the people we love are stolen from us, the way to have them live on is to never stop loving them. Buildings burn, people die, but real love is forever."

It's particularly poignant given and considering the real life tragic circumstances surrounding Brandon Lee's untimely death. I mean you would be blameless if you thought that it was Rochelle Davis taking about Brandon Lee in the same context of Sarah Mohr speaking of Eric Draven and Shelly Webster.
I think the whole point of her character is that she is a veteren of the street and a junkie mother. She puts on the stiff upper lip act and acts tough but she isn't as tough as she thinks she is. I think she played the role for what it is. I don't think it would have worked if her character was more emotional.
