WHAT FOR? HER MOM HAD, THERE WAS A CHANCE SHE WASNT GOING TO DIE. PLUS, NOT EVERYONE CRY ABOUT CANCER. SOME PEOPLE WHO GET CANCER DON'T EVEN CRY.

This happens sometimes. The person is in such shock they dissassociate themselves from reality. This is why she wakes up screaming for her mom when she thought her parents were fighting, only to be told she was gone. Then, she broke down and puked. Reality finally caught up with her.

Exactly. I think another reason she didn't break down was because she thought her mom would want her to be strong and help keep the family together as best as she could.
Don't eva let nobody tell you you ain't strong enough
It didn't hit her until much later, that happens. My uncle committed suicide earlier this year, didn't hit me until recently.
