What language was Forest Whitaker speaking in this movie?

Just like Christopher Walken, Forest Whitaker doesn't have an accent per se, but his speaking style and cadence, is all his own.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

He tried to have a Boston accent but failed. Same with the Irish accent of Tommy Lee Jones and the Boston accent of Jeff Bridges.
