I had a teacher in high school that made us watch 4 or 5 episodes and they were all excruciatingly bad. Every episode ended with Roma Downey going, "I am an angel sent from heaven" and then explaining the entire premise of the show. The writing was bad and the acting was among the worst I've seen on television.
shareWhere do teachers get the idea that showing fictional movies/TV in class is "education"? The excuse I always heard was, "It's supposed to make the students THINK about things." What the students learn/think about is that they'd probably rather be anywhere else. I could maybe understand this in a film class/school, but not regular high-school.

shareMy mom used to like watching the show when my sister and I were little, but thankfully after the show ended, we'd switch to Hercules/Xena on another channel (antenna permitting).

Commenting on frequent shots of Monica's bare feet in the first episode, Zurawik wrote, "I'm not sure what that's all about unless CBS has research showing a large audience of foot fetishists waiting for a reason not to watch ABC's Roseanne."[27]
