What was the third ending?

OK, the aired ending featured George dying and the alternate ending featured Frost dying instead but what about the third ending that was filmed? Does anyone know what happened in that one? Thanks to anyone who's able to answer this! :)

I saw the behind the scenes doc "Touched by Frost" the following day and as far as I remember they mentioned Supt. Mullett's death as the 3rd option. Either way - one had to die!
I think you should still be able to watch it on the ITV player.
