How large is Denton?

I understand it's not a real city. Telling me it's Leeds or places like that doesn't help someone who lives in the states. Population is a good determining factor for me as long a you can tell me what other cities sizes iare other than London. Thank you in advance

As said previously, Denton is an indeterminate place, supposedly in the South Midlands of England, but filmed in Yorkshire in Northern England in a range of towns, therefore impossible to say because Leeds for example has a population of around half a million, Bradford around 300K and Wakefield around 80K.

In the first novel, "Frost at Christmas", Denton's population (including its surrounds) is said to be 100 000.

Denton is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside, in Greater Manchester, England. It is five miles (eight km) to the east of Manchester city center, and has a population of 26,866. Historically part of Lancashire, Denton grew as a significant center of hat manufacture, though today it is a predominantly residential town. This is from Wikipedia. One of the interesting things I noticed being from the U.S. as you are, is the usage of a lot of Scottish Actors! Denton, Manchester, U.K. is just a stones throw south of Scotland laddie!! They even got the casting right. And two last things. A Map link for Denton http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl And, Denton has no Police Dept. The Manchester Police would Handle this & the closest sub-station is the Heaton Moor Subdivision of The Manchester Police, about 2 1/2-3 miles s/w of Denton at 1A Portland Grove, Stockport SK4 4AA, United Kingdom. Last if you get a chance another good but short series of U.K cop shows Is George Gently. Current avail. streaming on Netflix. Cheerio for now Guv.
